Innovation & research of
multifunctional flood defences

Picture

Research programme

The research programme aims to advance cutting edge scientific knowledge required to meeting the upcoming challenges for flood mitigation in urban areas brought about by economic and climate change. It provides a framework for the design and maintenance of multifunctional flood defences that links comprehensive scientific research with on the ground (re)development projects.

Meet the team

In this research programme, we have combined the expertise of three universities and seven different research groups within these universities. Twelve PhD and five Post-doc researchers are involved in the research programme. They aim to gain insight in the behaviour of the multifunctional flood defences during extreme storms. Involved universities are Delft University of Technology, Wageningen University and University of Twente.
